Review - Zombarella's House Of Whorrors (2019)

Zombarella's House Of Whorrors (2019)
Review By Todd Sheets

Zombarella's House of Whorrors was a blast, a true throwback to those crazy days of cable access channels and SOV movies. All Mixed into a stew of sleazy splatter, done with obvious love and heartfelt homage to those who did as much as they could with little money on any gear we could find. Of course the segments are done better, partly due to the times and technology available. And Tony has better understanding of the medium than many of us were able to do when we started way back in the early 80s.

The segments, including one from old school splatmeister Tim Ritter, are just the right length and all have great payoffs. Part of the fun in an anthology like this is to get a storyline that can be told in a small time frame, with cool twists and a good punchline at the end. These stories do that rather well. Much like Cable Access and the SOV movies it emulates, the quality varies from segment to segment, and the added commercials are right on the money if you ever watched any of those stations back in the 80s.

I recommend this film to everyone who has a love for a bygone era, and who wants to see some creativity and imagination at work on a zero budget. More than that I am so proud of Tony and all he has accomplished, and all his love and support of our genre. He is the real deal, in it with his whole heart and soul. And I for one applaud him, and support his work 100%. This flick is on sale now, so grab it soon!
